This blog will document the process of creating a public art piece for the City of Avondale. The art piece will be a mosaic on a half wall in front of the police substation on Western Avenue in Old Town Avondale. The theme is "Police and Community". I will be working with Mrs. Sondra Davis and her art students at Agua Fria High School.

Here is a picture of the first backer board panel complete with the black and white glass mosaic boarder. Notice the two left corners have an area without tiles, as the new Avondale city logo is going to be placed there. There will also be 2 more logo tiles at the opposite end of the mosaic, to make it symmetrical.
